A weather window has allowed us to escape again for another loop around the Southern Great Barrier Reef, this time with a special purpose in mind, although not quite what we had originally planned.

This week has been typical of the highs and lows of life afloat: weather bound at Lady Musgrave, waiting for a long blow to pass, a few ambivalent snorkels, leading us to reflect on coral health.
For the last stretch of our Far North Queensland Reef Adventure, we headed close to shore to Low Isles, then Double Island. But we could not resist a last reef visit to Michaelmas Cay before sailing back to Cairns to drop Murray and Maree off for their return home.
