Our dawdle to new territory for us, from the Whitsundays to Magnetic Island, is the start of new adventures.
Anchor winch problems delay our departure for Far North Queensland by two days, but allow us to catch up with our friends on Storm Boy!
After a week of hiding at the top end of the Whitsundays, we had four days of calm conditions, perfect for the outer reef and its crystal clear waters. We started at Bait Reef where we spent three days, then moved to Hook Reef.
We are still in the Whitsundays. Our friend Sue has arrived and we are having fun in the islands while waiting for bits and pieces for Anui.
The Australian Multihull World magazine has published our article “The Business of Buying a Catamaran” in their May/June edition. Having gone through this exercise ourselves for the fourth time, we have drawn a few conclusions which we share with catamaran enthusiasts.
Yachties often say you don’t want friends or family to stay on board too long. But we feel differently about that; we had Wade’s cousins Grant and Deb with us for 3 days, and it just was not enough. Great sailing, snorkeling, sightseeing, feasting were had!
