Our One Four Challenge continues. This is a photo processing project hosted by Robyn Gosby at Captivate Me, which always provides great learning. For this week’s wander around the mangroves, I am feeling a little artistic!
Week Three Process
I love playing with Foto Sketcher. Although it feels a bit like cheating, it allows me to combine my passion for photography with my interest in painting. So again, using my Week One edit as the base, I imported the image into Foto Sketcher and selected the Oil Painting pre-set. I then tweaked the settings to my liking and added some texture.
Here is how the image now looks:

I really like what the painting effect and texture have done to the sky and the sand in the foreground.

Nice effect and I see a bit of canvas underlay as well – I know what you mean about feeling like using an app or a filter to do a cool effect feeling like cheating – I know I couldnt do it WITHOUT the tool, and it was my brain that composed all the steps, so its still my work, or so I try to tell myself 🙂

It’s nice that others use free editing programs like Foto Sketcher. – I don’t think of it as cheating at all since you can adjust the various techniques on most of those programs. – I like this effect, it adds texture and the sky looks fabulous in this edit.
