One Four Challenge – February Week 1

onefourchallenge-2016-badgeThe photo processing One Four Challenge is back after a break, but in a different format. Where we used to experiment with developing images in four different ways each and every month, this year will do this on a quarterly basis, in February, May, August and November.  For both Robyn Gosby, our host at Captivate Me, and all participants, this means a little less work, which I must say I am welcoming!

February Image

My start up image is one I took during our recent sailing voyage: a lovely lotus flower in a lily pond at Moruya, in New South Wales.

Week One Edit

Being still in catch up mode after being at sea for two months, I am keeping things very simple this week: just a square crop and tweaking of the contrast, vibrance and saturation in Lightroom, and a small vignette.

This will set the scene for further work in the following weeks.  As always your feedback is welcome.

    • Oh that’s great Charlie. We are doing this on a quarterly basis this year; last year got a bit too hard for everybody. But I too like the challenge and the rhythm!

  1. Gorgeous, Chris. I may have to join in again…I miss this challenge. Looking forward to future edits, so much to work with here.

    • Thanks Carrie, nit sure where I will take this, but for once I will go with the flow a week at a time, rather than a month in advance! I missed the rhythm too, but glad it is now just quarterly.

  2. I don’t think you are going to be able to improve on this one. It’s beautiful, clear, sharp and suits the square crop. However, it will still be interesting to see what you do with it 🙂

  3. Beautiful – it looks just like the original image but sharper and a bit more vibrant – exactly what I always strive for in Lightroom! Perfect 🙂
