Two days ago, Wade’s Mum passed away. She had a very large stroke at the beginning of the week at the residential care home were she had been for the past four months. She was taken to hospital in a coma. Her Melbourne family spent the day at her bedside. She was not conscious, but was breathing and lying calmly. She never woke up and died the next morning.
Elaine was suffering from dementia and had been gradually getting worse. It is such a sad condition. In effect you lose the person twice, first to the disease, and then at the end. But she still recognised her sons when they came to spend some time with her at the nursing home and was always showing them warmth.
We are grateful for her peaceful passing.
So sorry for your loss. xxxx

So sorry for your loss! I know you had been concerned travelling far from her for long. Dementia is a cruel condition. I am glad that she had still been able to recognise her sons! I think you are right that it is perhaps a blessing she could pass on peacefully with at least her most precious memories still intact xxx
Than you for the kind thoughts Sarah.
Always x
I’m so sorry to hear this. 😦 Prayers to you and the family.
