Anui has returned from a fantastic trip to the Southern Coral Sea Atolls and as promised, we have compiled the detailed story of our expedition which includes information and many images not shared in our previous four posts.
We hope the account of our explorations will enthrall you, as will the incredible sights we captured in hundreds of photos. The company of Graham and Helene, on Roo Bin Esque, made the experience even more enjoyable.

Enjoy the read and the dreaming!
As we post this we are getting ready to leave for our next adventure to the Swain Reefs, so the offshore explorations continue!

Very much enjoyed the longer telling of your latest voyage!
Shark shield for Wade when spear fishing looks a good idea! So many ‘pause button ‘ moments, thanks for sharing!
Pleased you enjoyed the longer read, you two. I like compiling these and reliving the highlights 😊
The shark shield is always on when Wade spears, but the sharks have to come to within one or two meters of him before the electrical pulse affects the sharks and they turn away… not experienced but the demo video is what it showed… a bit close for comfort but better than nothing! I personally have had 3 excited sharks zoom around me after Wade had speared a trout and I had photographed the whole episode. He hurriedly swam back to the dinghy with his catch in the air… I was left with the beasties and certainly felt uneasy with their frisky behaviour, wishing I had a shield too!
Cudos for your fishing bravery. I reckon I’d prefer a full canopy collapse to swimming with hungry sharks! 🦈
Reef Sharks aren’t really interested in us… canopy collapse… that used to get my heart pumping and a few yelps when recovering and doing the big pendulum!
True!
Thanks for publishing this Chris, sounds and looks like a wonderful 3 weeks. All the best for the next bit.
Hi Murray, Yes the Southern atolls trip in company was excellent. We really needed this!
Hi from the cold south,
Well you have done a great job in relaying your recent adventures. I really enjoyed reading it with its such a combination of history and nature and beauty. You combined the undersea shots with the drone and pictures of the cays so well. It all made it come alive. As you settle into the next bit of your adventure, have fun and stay safe. Love Sue
Glad you enjoyed reading the story, Sue, and thank you for the feedback. There is so much to see and experience out there and seeing it with another like minded couple makes it even more enjoyable.
