While stuck in Jervis Bay for a week hiding from an East Coast Low, we have been busy putting the finishing touches to our Tasmanian Cruise Story and coffee table Photobook of aerial photos!
This is what stopped us in our tracks:

35 to 45 knot winds, 4 to 6m swell in the ocean and torrential rain meant that we were boat bound for a week but safe, tied up to a big fat public mooring inside Jervis Bay at the Hole in the Wall. The one advantage of being stuck is that it has given us time to finalize the documentation of our epic 1400nm voyage in Tasmanian Waters.
If you enjoy reading about the places we sail to and our photography, we hope you find our cruise story 40o South to your liking. For the yachties among our readers, we trust this quasi-cruising guide will be useful. And if all you want to do is scan through the photos, there is plenty there to entertain you with some 800 images included.
So here it is, the longest of our journals, but then again, it was our longest trip! Click on the image below to follow the link, or go to our Cruise Stories Page/Sailing Anui section.
With most significant voyages we also showcase favourite images in a photo-book. This year we have put together a coffee table book of our best aerial photographs. Attached is a link to a preview of 40o South Aloft provided through Albumworks. As always, we have done this for ourselves as a memento of our voyage, but you might enjoy having a flick through it too.
We have finally left Jervis Bay and are northward bound, however a precious week has evaporated! Our stops as we progress up the coast will be brief since we are on a schedule to get back to the Gold Coast for appointments. Unfortunately this also means we are unlikely to catch up with friends in person along the way.

Wow, beautiful Tasmania!! I’m glad you are underway again, guys!
Thanks John, onto the next adventure!
That sounds great! 😎
Hi Mateys, epic sailing ! Hey we might be able to wave to you Sunday, we’re overnighting at Windang (NR Wollongong) Sunday before flying home.
Fair winds!
Howdy you two… by Sunday we’ll be around Port Stephens! Have fun!
Yes, I looked at the weather maps and felt some of the effects of that low myself and thought you might be ‘stuck’ . , , and, now, in a hurry! Bestest . . . Once the chores are done, truly cannot wait to find out about your photobook . . .
We thought of you Eha as we were sailing past… now at Jibbon Beach, enjoying a breakfast ashore then back to sailing north!
Ha! Looked it up whilst having my breakfast coffee – Bundeena >you ARE close ! Thanks for the geography lesson . . . have a fair day!
Well done Chris & Wade on compiling these books. Wonderful memories. I know how much work goes in to these books (I’m still working on mine from last season). Just got back from a “care” visit to The Bossa. So much rain up north! Hope to catch you on the water this season.
Hi Amanda, the foul weather was perfect to complete the projects… nothing better to do! Hope we see you too. We are not intending to go very far north…
