A large white wader with a distinctive black bill, the Royal Spoonbill (Platalea regia) is vulnerable in Victoria, so it was a treat to spot several in the wild. This odd looking but stately waterbird is the subject of our #45 Bird Photography Challenge.
We are freshly back from France and haven’t plotted our next sail yet, but seeing our article published in Australian Multihull World is a great way to shift our focus from family matters to sailing and photography.
As we were flying over France, we felt happiness and relief that everything went well with my Dad and with Wade’s Mum back in Australia, but I also felt great sadness at leaving my Dad all alone.
