Easter Reef Egrets (Egretta sacra) have been a feature of our cruise around coral cays of the Capricornia coast these last two weeks. We had never seen them before and we thought it fitting to make these beautiful and secretive waterbirds the focus of our #24 Bird Photography Challenge.

What do you do at an anchorage called “Pancake Creek“? Have pancakes of course, especially since it’s Didier’s 60th birthday! We arrived at Pancake Creek back on the Capricornia Coast last Monday night after a rollicking sail from Lady Musgrave. We had to leave the reef to shelter from strong SE winds.
