Winter Solstice Sailing

We wished them fair winds, following seas and starry nights, and that’s what they got for their first 26 hour leg!  They sailed into Eden and decided to stop there rather than try to push on before the Northerly change.  They will be comfortable at anchor overnight, and may try and motor early in the morning…

Awesome foursome heading North!

This is it, the Take It Easy crew has left the Gippsland Lakes, bound for Tin Can Bay in Queensland, some 900 nautical miles North!  For Wade it is an exciting mission.  For crew, Mike & Merv, it will be a thrilling experience, as for Bengie the ship’s cat…well, it’s better than “jail”!

Winter migration

Winter is approaching, the days are shorter, the temperature is dropping.  These are the signals it is time to embark on our winter migration and sail the boat back from Port Albert to the Gippsland Lakes.
