As we are well into winter here and we long for warmer climes, the publication of our article “Hooked on the Reef” in the Australian Multihull World magazine is a welcome reminder of the wondrous time we had at the Reef last summer!
With the beginning of July comes time to participate in the photo processing challenge hosted by Stacy Fischer at Visual Venturing. It is an enjoyable digital dark room exercise whereby all participants work on a single photo. We have the license to be as creative as we like, and explore different techniques.
Of all the shore birds we come across, the Pied Oystercatcher (Haematopus longirostris) is one of our favourites, with its comical swagger and evocative piping call. This shy bird is the bright subject of our #42 Bird Photography Challenge.
