Our article “20 Hops up the Queensland Coast” has been published in the May/June 2013 edition of Australian Multihull World which unfortunately happens to be the last.
Chris was delighted when asked to write a feature article about cruising the Queensland coast by the editor of Australian Multihull World and got to work while we were in the shipyard at The Boat Works! Nothing quite like reminiscing about nice anchorages when you are doing a whole lot of boat maintenance.
Little did we know it was going to be the final issue of Australian Multihull World. Like many other magazines they have found it is no longer viable to produce and distribute their printed magazine. Three out of four Australian publications Chris was writing for have met a similar demise.
We hope seasoned, new and vicarious cruisers will enjoy the read and find some inspiration among the 20 spots we have chosen to list. It is after all the time of year when hundreds of yachts are heading north along the Queensland coast.

What a shame about the magazines. Unfortunately it is the reality of Oz publications, our population is too small to sustain them all.
Hi Sue, yes I had developed a nice relationship with all these editors, but that’s life!
So, the magazines didn’t move to internet publication?
No, apparently not worth it!
Well… I must disagree with that perspective. ☹️
Nice swansong Chris …. pity the printed mag is going the way of so many others.
Bon voyages guys!
Thanks Elgar, it is a shame. They had been struggling for a while.
