Time is marching on for our July One Four Challenge. We are now in week three already. For those who are not familiar with this photo processing project, this is hosted by Robyn Gosby at Captivate Me and involves participants selecting an image to interpret in four different ways over four weeks. It’s a great exercise to hone in your photo editing skills.
Week Three Process
This week the eyes have it. Anyone who has seen Bengie in the flesh will know she has very green eyes, quite striking.
So I thought I’d focus on them! To do so I have cropped my week one image heavily and upped the saturation for the eyes using the adjustment brush. I then put the image through the Tangled FX app again, but this time I used the ‘Small Fibres’ preset. Finally I came back in Lightroom and applied a slight vignette.
Here is the progression over the three weeks:
As always your comments are welcome. Let me know what you think of my wild beast!
Do take the opportunity to wander over to the One Four Challenge page, where you will be able to see the work of other creative participants.
Love it! It’s stunning. Of course, so is Bengie….Cheers Trish
Hi Trish – lovely to get your comment! How is life onboard Sengo?
Hi Chris – sorry I missed this (and we have been a technology black hole for the past week). I love your posts and when I get around to it I will be really concentrating on my photography. You are doing an amazing job playing around with your photographs. Life on Sengo pretty good so far. We are at Shaw Island in the Whitsunday’s and heading across to Airlie Beach tomorrow. I am about to publish July’s newsletter. I can’t believe we
have been on board 1 year now!!!
Congrats on your one year anniversary on board Sengo! Time has gone fast! Thank you for the lovely feedback. It’s really nice when people comment. 🙂

I’m sitting here laughing because I thought Sue was being “fancy” too with Bengie’s name 🙂 This is by far my favorite edit so far. I love the crop. Her eyes are exquisite. I think this one also captures her electrifying personality as well. Great job, Chris!
Thanks Kirsten – My favourite too and I had fun with this edit!
I can tell 🙂 it is a great one!!!
I love those electrified effects!! Bengie looks slightly demonic!!
She can be a bit of a devil! Thanks for the feedback Cybele!
Stunning edit, the quality of original plays a big part when doing such a tight crop.
Thanks Loré – It’s surprising really, given it was taken with my iphone!
A great edit! I love the tight crop and the bright, electrified strands – they give Bengie a wonderfully otherworldly quality. 🙂
She looks a bit fierce! 🙂
Sparkly kitty, love the effect in the eyes
Thanks! 😊
Hi Chris – I really thought I’d commented on this. Loved this close up of beautiful Bengie and the vibrant effects 😃
Oh Hi Robyn, nice of you to go back to older posts and check! I had fun with this one. Now wondering what the September subject will be!
I’m doing my catch up Chris. July and August have been so busy. Loved your Bengie for July. Yes I’m pondering September too 😜
