Whale Migration Photobook

Starting our full-time cruising life as the whales were migrating from Antarctica to the East Coast of Australia was such a highlight that we decided to put together a Photobook about it.

At a time when we are dealing with the less pleasant aspects of cruising, the preparation of the book was a welcome diversion. It took us right back to these unforgettable moments when we were sailing with the Humpback Whales. We saw so many and learnt a fair bit about them! So we have included some facts as well as a selection of our favourite images.

Click on the picture below for a link to the online preview of the photobook, which also appears in our Cruise Stories/On board Take It Easy page.  We hope you enjoy this. Let us know what you think. If you are so inclined, you can also purchase the photobook directly from Albumworks.

We also treated ourselves to a beautiful panoramic print on metal of ‘The Fluke’, a photo I took off Port Stephens. It takes pride of place on board Take It Easy. Print2Metal did an excellent job. We can highly recommend these aluminium prints to display special images in high resolution, ultra gloss.

Can’t wait for next Winter and Spring to share the ocean with the Humpback Whales again!

      • That’s good news! I had assumed the engines for the Cat were two small diesels but apparently two long-shaft outboards do the job. Interesting how they are housed out of sight too.

      • True! A full onboard system would certainly create drag. I grew up on a large inland lake in Michigan and have been around pleasure and racing boats for years. Have little boats in my blood! 😬🤪
