Having spent a week in the Keppels, we left for the Southern Great Barrier Reef early this morning. It’s very exciting to be able to show this magnificent offshore region to our friend Sue and spend time each day exploring the cays and lagoons on our way south.
Of course we were not going to sit idle at Monkey Beach, Great Keppel Island while we waited for our weather window. We could not resist the temptation to go for a snorkel each day. Every time is special with different fish and corals and we come back from our dives eager to share what we spied and photographed. Here is a gallery of our latest… We were all a little smitten by the Green Sea Turtles, the Giant Clams and the Scribbled Angelfish. As usual click on the first image to display the gallery in full screen slide show.
While at the Reef we will be without internet or phone, but we will share our experiences there with you on our return to the mainland back at Bundaberg. See you in a week or so!
We are jealous. We have just exited a lumpy Wide Bay Bar. Enjoy the reef!
It is our last chance for the year so relishing it!
I love the photos guys, have a safe passage! 🌴
Thanks John – many more coming! 😊
Fantastic pictures Chris! Wow! 🙂
Thanks so much HJ – Always nice to get your feedback.
Lovely photos again & all different shades of blue. Enjoy the outer reef and it was good to speak to Sue before you went off air. Barbara
Thanks Barbara. Enjoying the reef for a few more days! Such a superb experience!
The ‘kiss me you fool’ caption could also be used for those giant clams!
Very true!
Oh how wonderful
Stunning as always!
Your underwater shots just keep getting more amazing! Love the turtle shots in particular!
Ah you get better with practice at snorkeling and editing! Thanks Ellen!
